At Pirates Union, we're proud to bring together some of the most talented and dedicated skaters from the North Island of Aotearoa. Our team is renowned for its agility, speed, and strategic prowess on the roller derby track.
Led by experienced captains, Pirates Union is a force to be reckoned with in every competition. Whether we're skating in Te Ika-a-Māui, Te Waipounamu, or anywhere across the Seven Seas, we always bring our A-game and a spirit of fierce competition.

Join us for an extraordinary celebration of unity, diversity, and athletic excellence at the RainbowGames 2024! This inclusive multisport event brings together LGBTQI+ communities and allies fromaround the world to participate in a series of thrilling sports competitions, fostering camaraderie and promoting equality for all.

Derby IoI Open Day
If You're a beginner or have skating experience, come and develop your skating skills and learn a little more about what Roller Derby is about.
Bring a friend or bring 3, come and join the fun!
We have all the gear you need but if you have your own gear - bring that too!
This session is on Saturday 20th April at the Trusts Arena from 12pm to 2.00pm.
Costs:
$5 to come along and skate
$5 for skate and gear hire (if you need it).
Join us for a skate, learn some new skills and we'll share some skating tips and demo some derby skills.
18+.
Please wear comfortable clothing and socks and remember your drink bottle.
