Have you ever fancied giving roller derby a go? Fear not!

We welcome both eager roller derby girls as well as future referees. Come along to learn and have a go at some basic skating skills as well as meet members from Pirate City Rollers.

If you do not have your own skates and pads, don't worry as there will be hire skates and safety gear available.

We hold our open days at Papatoetoe Roller Sports Club, Wallace Road (opposite New World Supermarket).

Pirate City Rollers' referee team, The Even Keels, is looking for guys and girls interested in refereeing roller derby to join them.

Just like freshmeat, they'll teach you to skate, teach you the rules, and then get you confident at yelling at a pack of women! No refereeing experience required - all you need is a keen interest in learning the rules and the ability to blow a whistle.
